John Connolly’s NEXT CHAPTER: Rising Talent of 2026

John Connolly has known the pull of performance for as long as he can remember. Growing up in Warwick, Rhode Island, he spent childhood creating skits and plays for family gatherings. An early love for entertaining planted a seed that would grow quietly but persistently through decades of life and work.

For more than 25 years John built a stable and respected career in healthcare, specializing in Transfusion Medicine as both a Laboratory Technologist and Lab Manager. His work took him across the country to teach, train, and speak at national conferences and events. “It has been a career I am grateful for,” he says, “but it never fulfilled my creative heart.”

That creative heart never left him. It lingered quietly, waiting for the right moment to be heard. Eventually he answered that call. “When I am performing and acting, I enjoy the entire process wholeheartedly,” he says. “It creates such joy and fulfillment to know I can help create a story that someone can get lost in, the kind of escape we all love about the entertainment industry.”

What held him back at first was not a lack of passion, but fear of instability and struggle. The entertainment industry can be unpredictable, and a life in healthcare had offered structure. Over time John came to understand that adversity is not an obstacle but a teacher. “This desire to entertain and be creative never leaves you,” he says. “It is innate to who we are as people and performers.”

John’s love for the craft is broad and deep. He thrives on the training and coaching, the learning and even the missteps. “I love everything about this process,” he says. “Making mistakes and learning what not to do. Creating and collaborating with others. Being inspired by fellow actors and their characters. Building worlds from writing and imagination. It provides a creative outlet that feels like therapy and joy.”

His approach is generous and strategic. For John, passion without action is unfinished work. “It is never too late,” he says. “There are always characters that need to be filled. If there does not seem to be any, then create them. Create the work you want to do and that you are passionate about. That authentic love of the craft will translate and inspire others.”

His message to aspiring creatives is firm and encouraging. “Get out of your head. Create and learn and always try something you are afraid to do. Find your tribe and learn from them. Take classes, get coaching and never stop.” In his own story, regret has become fuel. In high school he was once too self conscious to join theater. “I regret not doing this,” he says, “but it led me down paths that I am grateful for. Now I am letting nothing hold me back.”

Today, John Connolly stands where heart and craft collide. He doesn’t just perform. He invites others to step into a life of intention, creativity, and courage. His journey is a reminder that fulfillment comes not from waiting for permission, but from choosing to show up, again and again, for the story you were born to tell.
