Joey Akpojetavwo grew up oceans away from the bright lights of American runways and studios. Raised in Nigeria, he was surrounded by culture, rhythm, and resilience. But something inside him always reached further. “When I started to make music,” he says, “it inspired me to have a name. Something for myself.”
That simple act of creation, making a beat or writing a lyric, lit a fuse. Life until that point had felt flat and directionless. “It was boring. I felt like I didn’t have a purpose,” he reflects. But music gave him one. And with it came the pull toward something even bigger: a life as a creator, a model, an artist in full.
Moving forward became non-negotiable. “It’s a goal I need to achieve,” he explains. “Otherwise, life feels pointless.” For Joey, the pursuit of artistry is personal salvation.

Whether he is reading a script, designing an image, or writing a new verse, he thrives on transformation. “The rush of creating a feeling into reality, that’s everything to me,” he says. “It brings things to life.”
Now forging his path as a commercial talent, artist, and model, Joey is building a brand powered by energy and authenticity. He has learned to believe in himself, even when others haven’t. “You just have to keep moving forward,” he says. “Not everyone will believe in you. So what? Believe in yourself.”
To others who wonder if they’ve missed their moment, Joey is clear. “It’s never too late.”
Joey may not have reached the heights he envisions just yet. But he is nowhere near finished. “I’m just a kid that came from Nigeria with a big dream in a country where dreams turn into reality,” he says. “I haven’t accomplished what I wanted yet, but trust me, I’m still moving forward.”
His voice carries no doubt. Only momentum.
