Position Overview:
We’re seeking a forward-thinking, creative, and data-driven Chief Content Officer (CCO) to lead our editorial, video, audio, and social content strategy. The CCO is responsible for setting the overall content vision of The Miami News, ensuring every piece we publish reflects our mission, engages our audience, and drives growth.
This is a pivotal leadership role—ideal for a bold thinker with media expertise and a deep understanding of content trends, audience engagement, and platform optimization.
Key Responsibilities:

Define and execute a cross-platform content strategy aligned with The Miami News brand, audience, and business goals

Oversee editorial, video, podcast, social media, and branded content teams to ensure cohesive storytelling across all channels

Collaborate closely with the Editor-in-Chief, Creative Director, and Publisher on brand tone, editorial priorities, and major initiatives

Develop scalable workflows for content production and publishing across platforms (website, YouTube, Instagram, TikTok, newsletters, etc.)

Lead audience growth strategy through innovative content formats, analytics, and SEO

Identify new formats and platforms for content experimentation (AI, live streaming, events, OTT, etc.)

Oversee key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure success, drive decisions, and adjust strategies in real time

Lead partnerships and special projects involving content licensing, syndication, or collaborations

Mentor and develop a high-performing team of creatives, editors, and strategists
Qualifications:

8–12 years of experience in content strategy, digital publishing, media leadership, or editorial management

Proven experience scaling content operations and audience across multiple platforms

Deep understanding of digital storytelling, SEO, analytics tools, and emerging media

Strong leadership and team-building skills with a collaborative approach

Experience with video production, podcast development, and social-first storytelling

Excellent editorial judgment and brand vision

Comfortable balancing creative instinct with data-driven decision-making

Background in journalism, publishing, entertainment, or digital media preferred
Bonus if You Have:

Experience in bilingual/multicultural markets (English/Spanish or English/Creole)
